Scriptural Reasoning 101

Organised by Student Christian Movement and Interfaith Glasgow

Location: Online (Zoom)

Dates: Monday 9th November

Time: 8pm – 9pm

Scriptural Reasoning (SR) is a fantastic tool for interfaith dialogue, offering people from different faiths the opportunity to come together to read and reflect on their scriptures.

Student Christian Movement and Interfaith Glasgow are teaming up this Scottish Interfaith Week to deliver a special Scriptural Reasoning 101 – giving people the opportunity to learn the basics of SR: what it is and how it’s done.

We will have a demonstration from three people experienced with Scriptural Reasoning – from Jewish, Christian, and Muslim faiths – who will read texts on the theme of ‘leadership’ and reflect together.

There will be an opportunity for Q&A and discussion!

This event  is open to anyone of any faith looking to learn a little more about scriptural reasoning. While this event is organised by a group which supports students, you do not need to be a student to join.

Guest speakers

  • Fiona Brodie, Glasgow Reform Synagogue
  • Hassan Rabbani, Zia-Ul-Quran Mosque
  • Roy Henderson, Pollokshaws Parish Church
