The festival of Diwali has been celebrated by Hindus across the world for thousands of years to commemorate the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness. Its message is universal and applicable to people of all faiths and backgrounds.

With a view to supporting COP26 which occurs in the same week, highlighting through our Diwali event, the salience that our ethos places on respecting and protecting the environment. We are working with the COP 26 Faith engagement team, and also, HFB officially launched its Hindu Environmental Task Force (HETF) on 18th September to raise awareness about Hindu values with regard to the environment, to the wider world, and to support its member organisations to become increasingly more environmentally friendly.

In the context of the climate crisis we face, this Diwali we will also illuminate the extensive and varied work that members of HETF, our Environmental wing, have undertaken, ranging from grassroots action such as environmental assessment at temples positively impacting thousands of community members to eco-farms in Scotland to planting trees.

This is invite only reception hosted by UK secretary  of State. The event will also be streamed online on our Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/HinduForumBritain/
