SUMMARY:Mental Health in a Pagan Context
DESCRIPTION:This experiential workshop will explore mental health within a Pagan context. Mirroring both the therapeutic process and Pagan practice\, we will create a space for reflection on mental health\, Paganism\, and how faith can be supportive of a person’s wellbeing. \nWithin this liminal space we will consider how spiritual practices may help us to care for our mental health and how these practices may be understood from a psychotherapeutic lens. The aim for this workshop will be for participants to reflect on their relationship between mental health and belief and to develop an understanding of Paganism. \nThis experiential workshop will have creative and group activities. You are welcome to participate as much as you would like to. \nThis event will be at the Quaker Meeting House\, 7 Victoria Terrace\, above\, Victoria St\, Edinburgh EH1 2JL. \nAbout the host\nMatt Cormack MSc BSc MBACP (Accred) RegCOSRT is an integrative psychotherapist\, clinical supervisor\, and psychosexual and relationship therapist. Matt is a Clinical Associate of Pink Therapy and has a private practice in Edinburgh. \nMatt is the Presiding Officer and Mental Health and Wellbeing Officer for the Scottish Pagan Federation. Matt has been a practising Pagan since 2006. \nMatt previously sat on the BACP Spirituality Division Executive and has worked for several LGBT+ organisations. Matt was the Counselling Lead for Edinburgh College and worked as a counsellor in further education for years.Matt is a chapter contributor to the upcoming Gender\, Sex\, and Relationship Diversity Therapy Theory and Practice book. SUMMARY:Edinburgh Interfaith Key Note Lecture & AGM 2025
DESCRIPTION:Edinburgh Interfaith Association invite you to their AGM and key note lecture from Adrian Cristea on the topic of Seeds of Peace & Hope. \nAdrian Cristea has a background in sociology and social work. He holds a Master’s Degree in Peace Studies from Trinity College Dublin. Adrian played a key role in establishing the first official Interfaith Forum in Ireland launched in January 2012 and led the process for developing the ‘Dublin City Interfaith Charter’. He is the founder of ‘Safe Haven’\, the hate motivated incident response program of Dublin City Interfaith Forum\, which delivers training enabling advocates to recognise\, report and support victims of hate motivated incidents. \nAs an interfaith practitioner and scholar\, Adrian combines practical interfaith experience with academic knowledge about interfaith learning with practical initiatives to build bridges across religious or cultural differences. He is currently working on obtaining his PhD at DCU\, Dublin\, in which he asks the question of how we can better understand the impact of interfaith engagement in European cities. As a part of his PhD-position\, Adrian Cristea also assists with teaching dialogical skills\, case study analysis and inter religious studies at the Centre for Religion\, Human Values and International Relations\, DCU\, Dublin. \nBesides these academic activities\, Adrian has been active as a bridge-builder in the Irish context in his current role of Executive Officer with the Dublin City Interfaith Forum coordinating interfaith projects\, organising and facilitating sessions about social cohesion and dialogue in Irish secondary and vocational education. He is the co-founder of Cities Faith & Community Forum\, a European Interfaith Network.
