SUMMARY:Interfaith Ritual for Transgender Day of Remembrance
DESCRIPTION:An interfaith ritual of protection and healing for Transgender Day of Remembrance hosted by Glasgow LGBT+ Interfaith Network and Glasgow Theosophical Society \nYou are invited to join us to honour and remember those whose lives have been cruelly taken as a result of transphobia. \nIn our interfaith ritual\, we will create a protective shield around our transgender and non-binary kin\, friends\, and neighbours\, defending them from continued violence and spiritually empowering those who defend them. \nAll of compassionate heart are welcome to this free event. \nThe ritual itself will start at 1:30 pm\, after some time to gather and get settled. Please arrive before the ritual begins so as not to interrupt. \nWe ask that\, if you are able\, please bring some food to share during our social time after the ritual. We will also offer the option of enjoying a creative activity together then. \nA small collection of pre-loved books and other items will be available to purchase with all proceeds being donated to Mermaids. (Mermaids provides advocacy and support for gender variant and transgender youth.) \nAccessibility\nThere is no lift in this venue\, a historic building in the tenement style. The event will be held up two flights of winding stairs. \nBooking information\nNo booking required.

SUMMARY:Interfaith Family Fun Day
DESCRIPTION:Interfaith Glasgow’s biggest indoor event of the year is back: Interfaith Family Fun Day! \nEveryone is welcome – join for a free afternoon of conversation\, good food\, and fun entertainment. This year will be extra special to mark Glasgow’s 850th year and will include a ‘Taste the World’ experience provided by Soul Food Sisters (thanks to funding from Glasgow City Council). \nAt the heart of this event are faith tables where children and their families will learn about different religious traditions through arts and crafts activities. There will also be a ‘try-it-on’ area\, giving people the chance to try on clothing from diverse cultures and religions\, as well as the opportunity to play (or learn to play) chess. \nThis event wouldn’t be possible without support from Glasgow’s faith communities who demonstrate the craft activities and help people try on clothing from their tradition\, while explaining their significance. \nBooking information\nNo booking required.
