SUMMARY:Edinburgh Interfaith Key Note Lecture & AGM 2025
DESCRIPTION:Edinburgh Interfaith Association invite you to their AGM and key note lecture from Adrian Cristea on the topic of Seeds of Peace & Hope. \nAdrian Cristea has a background in sociology and social work. He holds a Master’s Degree in Peace Studies from Trinity College Dublin. Adrian played a key role in establishing the first official Interfaith Forum in Ireland launched in January 2012 and led the process for developing the ‘Dublin City Interfaith Charter’. He is the founder of ‘Safe Haven’\, the hate motivated incident response program of Dublin City Interfaith Forum\, which delivers training enabling advocates to recognise\, report and support victims of hate motivated incidents. \nAs an interfaith practitioner and scholar\, Adrian combines practical interfaith experience with academic knowledge about interfaith learning with practical initiatives to build bridges across religious or cultural differences. He is currently working on obtaining his PhD at DCU\, Dublin\, in which he asks the question of how we can better understand the impact of interfaith engagement in European cities. As a part of his PhD-position\, Adrian Cristea also assists with teaching dialogical skills\, case study analysis and inter religious studies at the Centre for Religion\, Human Values and International Relations\, DCU\, Dublin. \nBesides these academic activities\, Adrian has been active as a bridge-builder in the Irish context in his current role of Executive Officer with the Dublin City Interfaith Forum coordinating interfaith projects\, organising and facilitating sessions about social cohesion and dialogue in Irish secondary and vocational education. He is the co-founder of Cities Faith & Community Forum\, a European Interfaith Network. With his work as an interfaith practitioner and scholar\, Adrian hopes to contribute to professionalising the field of interfaith learning and engagement\, which\, in the end\, will contribute to more peaceful and cohesive societies \nBooking information\nBook your ticket on TicketSource
