SUMMARY:Training: Handling the Hot Stuff
DESCRIPTION:This 3-hour interactive online workshop explores tools and approaches to help you navigate conversations where there is deep disagreement\, and potentially high emotion. \nTragically our world feels more divided and fractured than ever\, with polarisation occurring over multiple topics\, and in multiple sectors of society. At the national\, community and individual levels we observe division\, blame and dehumanisation. The ability to fully hear each other is urgently needed\, yet very few of us feel confident in navigating heated discussions. \nThis session explores tools and approaches to help participants navigate conversations where there is deep disagreement\, and potentially high emotion. We will consider ways of supporting us to better hear each other and stay in connection\, while authentically expressing our positions and beliefs. \nThe tools and approaches will include: tools for slowing down and managing dysregulation; naming and building upon points of agreement; distinguishing intention and impact; understanding ‘cherished beliefs’; and facilitation tools to support people to better hear each other. \nPlease note: This session will cover some of the same approaches shared in the session on ‘managing difficult conversations; facilitated with the Centre for Good Relations on Monday 9th March. \nBooking information\nPlease register for this event through Eventbrite. \nRegistration is essential. The training fee is £20. You will be sent the Zoom link after you register.

SUMMARY:Online Qigong Workshop: The Six Healing Sounds Qigong (Liu Zi Jue 六字诀)
DESCRIPTION:This online session explores wellbeing through The Six Healing Sounds Qigong (Liu Zi Jue 六字诀)\, a traditional Chinese breathing and movement practice. \nThis year’s Scottish Interfaith Week theme is wellbeing\, and this workshop offers a gentle opportunity to slow down\, reconnect with the breath and body\, and explore a traditional Chinese approach to mindful movement. \nLiu Zi Jue combines gentle movements\, slow breathing\, focused attention and six vocal sounds\, each traditionally associated with different organs and emotional qualities. SUMMARY:COP31 Climate Summit: Mass and Livestream Presentation
DESCRIPTION:Join us to pray for the global leaders and experts gathering for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31) in Türkiye and for the care of our common home. \nCOP31 will be where the world comes together to agree on the actions to address the climate crisis\, such as limiting the global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius and helping vulnerable communities adapt to the effects of climate change. \nPope Leo XIV has called for greater political action on the climate crisis\, saying there is “no room for indifference or resignation”. In this spirit\, we are coming together in faith to pray for the success of these crucial international negotiations\, that they may produce real\, tangible actions to help both people and planet. \nHosted in partnership by the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland’s Office for the Care of Creation\, Justice & Peace Scotland\, SCIAF\, and SCES\, this special Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop Nolan. \nEnjoy refreshments in Eyre Hall following Mass\, alongside a live video presentation streamed from COP31 in Türkiye. \nBooking information\nNo booking required. \n
