Join this explorative session to learn about the science of well-being and how to put Buddhist meditation into practice

Understanding our experience of well-being can help us to engage more deeply with well-being practices. Prof J Davidson, a neuroscientist from the University of Wisconsin, developed the Four Pillars of Well-being i.e. mindfulness, connection, insight and purpose. The Four Pillars will be presented and discussed.

The second half of the session is an overview and practical introduction to Buddhist meditation.

This morning session will be led by Till Kroeber, who worked as a doctor in end of life care for over 20 years and is co-founder of the Trossachs Tryst Retreat Centre in Callander where the event will be held. Till is a member of the Western Chan Fellowship which he represents at the Network of Buddhist Organisations UK.

This event can be combined with the Scottish Interfaith Week event ‘Spoiled For Choice – Meditation Practices in Different Faith Traditions’ at the same venue at 14:00.

A 12:45 lunch consisting of soup and bread for a suggested donation of £5 on the day can be ordered via the checkout form. You can also bring your own lunch.

Tea and coffee provided.
