Interfaith Ritual for Transgender Day of Remembrance
November 22 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
An interfaith ritual of protection and healing for Transgender Day of Remembrance hosted by Glasgow LGBT+ Interfaith Network and Glasgow Theosophical Society
You are invited to join us to honour and remember those whose lives have been cruelly taken as a result of transphobia.
In our interfaith ritual, we will create a protective shield around our transgender and non-binary kin, friends, and neighbours, defending them from continued violence and spiritually empowering those who defend them.
All of compassionate heart are welcome to this free event.
The ritual itself will start at 1:30 pm, after some time to gather and get settled. Please arrive before the ritual begins so as not to interrupt.
We ask that, if you are able, please bring some food to share during our social time after the ritual. We will also offer the option of enjoying a creative activity together then.
A small collection of pre-loved books and other items will be available to purchase with all proceeds being donated to Mermaids. (Mermaids provides advocacy and support for gender variant and transgender youth.)
Accessibility
There is no lift in this venue, a historic building in the tenement style. The event will be held up two flights of winding stairs.
