Seeds of Faith, Hope and Action
November 4 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
In this special webinar, Faith for the Climate will catch up with other Seeds of Hope and Action contributors of different faiths, including global majority activists, to gain critical insights on the state of environmental justice and/or interfaith friendship, and inspirations for moving forward.
This November marks the fifth anniversary of COP26, the UN climate conference hosted by the UK in Glasgow. This was a historic COP, convened in the midst of the global Covid-19 pandemic. It also marked unprecedented mobilisations of UK faith groups to put justice and equity at the centre of international climate negotiations.
In Glasgow, the Centre for Applied Buddhism, Soka Gakkai International UK (SGI-UK), and Faith for the Climate were present in official UN-accredited areas (the Blue and Green Zones) as well as in grassroots-oriented mobilisations in the fringe events outside of the formal negotiations. The latter included the flagship Seeds of Hope and Action exhibition and series of events at Websters, hosted by SGI-UK supported by Faith for the Climate.
Five years on, it’s time to see what happened to the seeds of hope and action that were planted in Glasgow. This is especially crucial as we redouble our efforts in the midst of continuing genocides and ecocides in different parts of the world.
