Our goal to mark the 20th anniversary of Scottish Interfaith Week is to plant 20 trees in the World Interfaith Harmony Grove and take the total to 1,000 trees.

We started the World Interfaith Harmony Grove on the 20th anniversary of the founding of Interfaith Scotland in 2019.

The Grove began with eighteen trees and through years of generous donations the Grove has grown to 980 trees. We are keen to reach 1,000 trees before the 2024 festival begins.

We are grateful to everyone who has donated to the Grove, whether to celebrate wedding anniversaries and birthdays, commemorate lost loved ones, honour the futures of grandchildren, or even to offset the carbon footprint of trips abroad. Together we can strive for world interfaith harmony and take impactful climate action.

You can donate to the World Interfaith Harmony Grove on the Trees for Life website.

Trees for Life

The World Interfaith Harmony Grove is planted and maintained by Trees for Life, a charity dedicated to reforesting the Scottish Highlands.

The charity plants and dedicates trees in the Caledonian Forest on behalf of anyone who donates to sponsor a tree. So far they have planted nearly two million trees.

Trees for Life have been looking after our grove for five years now and we thank them for their hard work.

Reforesting Scotland event for Scottish Interfaith Week

We are hosting a special lunchtime event with Trees for Life during Scottish Interfaith Week.

Our speakers Alan McDonnell, Head of Nature Restoration at Trees for Life, and Dr Maureen Sier, Director of Interfaith Scotland, will explore interfaith climate action and the power of trees.

The event will be online on Thursday 14th November (12.30-1.30pm).

You can book your ticket on Eventbrite.

Get involved in our Favourite Tree campaign

“My favourite tree is this glorious giant in Midlothian, featuring Finn the dog.”

Trees are vital to the future of our home and we know most people have a favourite one.

Whether it’s a magnificent Scots Pine you pass on your dog walk or a baby orange tree you nurture in your living room; we want to hear about it.

Post a photo of your favourite tree on social media and tag us, or use the hashtag #ScottishInterfaithWeek.

You can follow us on Facebook @FollowSIFW and Twitter @SIFWEvents.
